1. Is there an official fan club?
There is. You can join here. Perks include special early releases of concert tickets.
2. What happened to the Street Team?
The Street Team was previously a Yahoo group, but is now basically Journey's main forum, Generations. No approval is needed to join. The Street Team does its best to promote the current lineup at every opportunity. Members passed out free copies of Generations at 2005 concerts.
3. Are there other forums besides the official site's?
Of course. If the official site isn't to your taste, you can find Journey discussion at MelodicRock.com and alt.music.journey (not for the faint of heart). Perry fans may enjoy Steve Perry Fans, Perryville, or All Things Steve Perry. There are other Perry forums out there as well.
4. How can I contact Journey?
The official fan club address is:
P.O. Box 6149
Santa Rosa, CA 95406
If you're looking for Jonathan Cain, though, I suggest emailing the webmistresses of his official site.
5. What's the best way to meet the band?
Honestly, there's really nothing you can do to meet them aside from knowing someone who can get you backstage, winning a pass off the radio, or being "in the right place at the right time". A lot of fans have met Journey in bars and restaurants after shows. Meet and Greets will likely disappoint, however, as they are very rushed.
6. What kind of official merchandise is out there and where can I get it?
Of course. What you can't find at the official store is probably hanging around on eBay. Some stuff to look for:
- posters
- LPs and 45s
- 8-tracks and cassettes
- the Journey Escape Atari game
- the Frontiers arcade game (very rare)
- bumper stickers
- shirts from all eras
- mirrors
- tapestries from Escape and Frontiers
- the Journey biography by Robyn Flans (very expensive today)
- tour books
- record awards
7. Which tribute bands honor Journey?
Many of them can be found here. Also see this link or search MySpace.
